Obasanjo describes Martins-Kuye as a detribalised Nigerian

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo a former president of Nigeria, has described late Jubril Martins-Kuye as a detribalised Nigerian, whose death is a huge loss not only to Ogun State, but also to Nigeria as a whole.

He revealed this in a condolence letter he addressed to the son of the deceased, Bolaji Martins-Kuye.

“He demonstrated wisdom, honesty and good leadership. He established friendship, harmony and accommodation among the people of Nigeria”. He said.

The letter read, “It was with shock that I received the sad news of the passing of your beloved patriarch, Senator Jubril Martins-Kuye, which occurred on Sunday January 17, 2021.  This, no doubt, is a moment of great grief for you and the entire family, but it is also clear that the deep sense of loss over the demise of your father is shared by many like me.  I hasten therefore to address this letter to commiserate with you all over this painful bereavement”.
