“THIS TOO SHALL PASS” EL-RUFAI’s WIFE ASIA AHMAD CRIES OUT The second wife of former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, arrived at the Federal High Court in Kaduna on Monday with a message of hope. “Life is simple. This too shall pass,” she said calmly as she made her way into the court premises. She arrived a few minutes after the former governor, who had already entered the courtroom accompanied by his legal team and some family members. Court doors were then shut by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS). Upon reaching the entrance, she was directed to use a different door. As she proceeded, she repeated emotionally, “This too shall pass.” Many Nigerians have expressed concern over Malam El-Rufai’s prolonged detention without bail, with some describing it as a violation of his constitutional rights. After sitting for about three hours, the judge adjourned the case to Tuesday, 31st March 2026, when the application for bail will be heard. Until then, El-Rufai remains in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
